10 Things I love About Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in Cabo

We had our first trip with Lia out of the country-our destination was Cabo San Lucas, MX. It was about a year ago that Marcos received the Save The Date for his friends wedding- Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in Cabo San Lucas was the location. I was about 7 months pregnant during that time and we thought Lia would be old enough to stay behind giving us a good little trip away. Well it did not turn out that way. Turns out we just weren’t ready, Lia is still breastfeeding & the thought of leaving her behind for 3 days made me anxious. The wedding was to be held at the sister resort- Pueblo Bonito Pacifica-an adults only resort. We were under the impression that no kiddos would be allowed, but then found out that the sister hotel totally allowed them, so we began to plan our trip. Zoey was not going to be able to make it since it landed on  Father’s Day weekend and despite our attempts her dad told us no, so we planned it a trip with just us 3!

Despite missing Zoey & feeling an insane amount of guilt-it was one of the best trips I have taken. We left the resort only one day-because we had no need to! It was beautiful and all you could ask for was right there! Let me tell you a little bit about this corner of Cabo San Lucas that I fell in love with.

Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach is located about 15-20 minutes past the downtown of Cabo San Lucas. It is a very private resort with its own beach. The resort itself is built on the side of a hill which gives every room an ocean view. Let me tell you nothing beat waking up to that beautiful view every morning & having the ocean waves to fall asleep to (even if thats the sound we use on our sound machine for Lia).

  1. Golf Carts:

The resort is HUGE and if you want to get a workout you could walk around from place to place. However, the resort has a very organized and efficient golf cart system on the resort. There are various stops throughout the resort and they are only a call away. With the baby we definitely took advantage of this, these carts came by every 2-3 minutes and we even got to meet tons of people this way too. Lia is quite the attention grabber and our days were filled with endless questions about her & more than a handful of “She is beautiful”s.

  2. All-inclusive:

The resort offers an all inclusive package option for your stay and it is totally worth it! Inside the resort there are various restaurants which are included in your all inclusive as well as poolside service, room service, and even fun drinks for mom & dad! YES-alcohol is included! Yippee! Not only is this available where we stayed our all-inclusive was also valid as some locations at the sister hotels in town. We definitely took advantage of that too!

  3. Our Room:

We picked out a junior suite for our stay seeing as it was just us 3 and did not need anything bigger. The room was beautiful! We requested a crib for Lia to stay in & the had that ready for us once we arrived. Upon entering the room there was a kitchenette to one side fully equipped and a very spacious bathroom area. We had a huge vanity area, with a separate toilet & shower areas. Pass this area we entered our bedroom with a very comfortable king size bed & alas our patio! The patio was amazing we had a gorgeous ocean view and loved spending our nights there.

  4. The Market:

The Market was a food court style dining area on the hotel. They had a great selection of eating options from Mexican to Italian to a 1950’s Diner and even had a Gelato & Crepes bar along with an actual bar. And yes- all included in our all-inclusive. I loved this place the food was delicious and the decor was so cute!

  5. The Pools:

There were 4 pools to choose from! 4! We only spent time in two of them but it was nice to know there were more so none were ever overly crowded. We had a pool relatively close to our room with a beautiful view-The Sky Pool. Where we spent most of our time was at the main pool. It was close to the buffet restaurant La Nao & the pool had a very shallow area which was perfect for Lia to feel independent while in it.

  6. The Food:

Although The Market was my absolute favorite it was definitely hard to find a second choice. On the resort the food was delicious! La Nao was a buffet style restaurant with different themed nights offering a variety of foods each time-although their Sunday Brunch was definitely my favorite. Everywhere we went we found something delicious to try!

  7. Poolside Service:

The fact that our all-inclusive included poolside service was AMAZING! I loved it! We sat at the pool ordered some food and drinks and got to relax while soaking up some good ol’ Vitamin C. The food there was delicious-shrimp and fish tacos were my favorite!  I love seafood! The drinks were also very tasty & my drink of the week became the Miami Vice-nice little spin on a piña colada!

  8. Service:

I am going to be a little biased seeing as I am Mexican-American, but boy do I love visiting Mexico for this reason. I find it that every time I visit I encounter amazing hard working people who genuinely want to help. I am fluent in Spanish which is a nice added bonus to these trips because I am able to communicate perfectly with everyone & I think they enjoy this. From the golf cart drivers, the servers, the bell boys, and guest services everyone was amazing. By the end of our trip they knew Lia by name and always made sure to bring us crackers for her to snack on throughout the day. The servers by the pool always made sure to bring us an umbrella to keep her in the shade.

  9. Accessibility:

Although the resort was a little ways past the downtown area it was very easy to get to and from. The resort offers a FREE bus shuttle service to its sister hotels, one of which is located downtown. You just need to make sure to grab your tickets as soon as you can-it is a very popular activity. The sister hotel Pueblo Bonito Rosé has a beach that is much more suitable for swimming & with its location being blocks from downtown it is definitely a tourist must do!

  10. The Wedding:

You might now know this but although I refer to Marcos as my hubby some times we are not married yet…working on it though. After watching the wedding on the beach we determined that is what we want too! The ceremony was beautiful and simple and classy. A sunset beach wedding made for a beautiful picture setting and the man on the guitar was just such a beautiful sound to walk into the location with. The food again was delicious, the DJ played all the right tunes, and the bartenders mixed the drinks beautifully! They also ran out to find a blanket to keep baby girl warm with all the wind!

It was the trip of a lifetime & such a perfect vacation for us! Every part of the resort made it a smooth trip for us with Lia. We were so nervous of how it was going to be and whether we would be okay and it went just fine! We had everything we needed & everything we could ask for. We wish to make it back one day & enjoy ourselves another stay at this beautiful resort!
