“If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it. Anything you want to, do it; want to change the world… there’s nothing to it”, wonderful words I sang along as a child with Willy Wonka never knowing the depth of their meaning. Such a wonderful message in such an adventurous story. We have had a Willy Wonka’d themed out weekend. Starting off with a viewing of the original 1971 movie to give Zoey some perspective & introduce a classic film to her.
The three of us sat on the couch (Lia was in bed) and enjoyed singing along & feeling nostalgic for a bit. So much fun & so many messages I did not pick up on as a child. Zoey kept asking me to please be quiet because she was trying to watch and I just kept trying to explain to her what was going on. Silly me!
The second part of our Willy Wonka weekend, and reason behind this theme for our weekend was the arrival of her beautiful My Golden Ticket book by Wonderbly. Wonderbly makes personalized books for your little ones. Each story filled with their own adventure and with them as a character! Such a beautiful idea!
With a book you give the gift of imagination. Imagination is something I feel our newer generations are lacking with so much television and screen time. We often find ourselves using the phrase , “When I was a kid…” and sharing all the exciting and imaginative ways we would play. We sat together and read her book making all the funny voices and being as musical as our vocal cords allowed. For those 30 minutes the three of us were submerged into Zoey’s very own adventure at the Chocolate Factory.
Such fun page designs and layout to keep us laughing and engaged the whole time! This book gave us memories for a lifetime! We cannot wait to continue sharing this story with the rest of our friends and family!
