This post is sponsored by Baby Relax. However, as always all opinions are 100% my own.
As you all may know the nursery for the twins is on it’s way! We have officially picked out a color and a theme and furniture to complete our little men’s room! It has been such an exciting progress to sit down with my husband and find out what we like and envision for our little guys, you see this boy parent thing is super new to us.
We went for a light grey tone for 3/4 walls and left 1 wall white for some accent wall decals I found on Amazon. After looking at all the gray tones we found we settled on Stone Eagle by Sherwin Williams. A can was enough to paint two coats, although you can very much so cover the walls with just one coat. We left all the trim and the window sill white to give it a nice pop.
It took my husband about a day and a half to prep the room, prime, paint the room, and also paint the molding at the bottom of the walls (it totally needed it). As much as I wished I could have helped a room full of paint fumes is no place for me lol.
WE WERE SOOOO EXCITED TO BUILD FURNITURE! All we needed to get their cribs, dresser/changing table, and glider into the room was to finish painting. As soon as my husband was done painting we were ready to build some furniture. Making sure this room is ready 2-3 months before my due date is our goal since we hear so many stories of twins coming early.
My husband began moving boxes up one by one. First we tackled my GLIDER! I had wanted a glider each time I had a baby, but I lacked the space and was never able to have one. When breastfeeding Lia I would always think of how great it would be to have a spot that I could designate for it. This time around Baby Relax made my dreams come true with their Raleigh Gliding Recliner. I am in heaven, actually I am currently sitting on it with my computer on my lap writing this post! It is so perfect in their room. I cannot wait to have my babies and rock them to sleep in this beautiful gliding recliner. My husband even joked about needing to put a TV in their room to watch the games since we now have the perfect chair lol. Sorry hunny.
Next up on the furniture train…assembling the cribs! Their Baby Relax Miles 2-in-1 Convertible Cribs are AMAZING! First off the materials are such great quality my husband could tell quality right off the bat! I sat with the instructions and my husband took care of the rest. The first crib took us maybe 35minutes to assemble because we were stopping to double check our work. But the second one was completed in maybe 15-20 minutes. Baby Relax does such a great job at creating easy to follow instructions. By far our favorite furniture instructions!
Both cribs were assembled with ease and then we tackled their Miles Dresser and Changing Table Topper. We wanted a dresser to double as a changing table to maximize our storage space and we LOVE the space this dresser has. I first of all love that Baby Relax has furniture collections with matching pieces making it super easy to get everything you need from one brand only. The dresser has 6 spacious drawers and the brass handles tie it perfectly to the brass details on their cribs. Soon as I’m done filling this baby up I will totally share what I did with you!
The assembly was a breeze as well. My husband and I loved that the sides came with the drawer rails installed. You have no idea how many times the rails are what has turned a smooth assembly into a nightmare one for us. THANK YOU Baby Relax! The assembly of the changing table topper was super easy and my husband loved how securely it attached to the top of the dresser.
My husband had been changing the doors inside our house little by little. He figured the boys’ room could be done when the painting had happened to give him a bit more freedom when painting and not having to worry about taping off doors and door trim. The doors and trim have been painted all we need is to install them!
The closet is it’s own project. My husband pulled the old bar and shelf out, because we made the decision to redo their closet to optimize the space in there for two people. Along with removing the inside we decided to remove the two big sliding doors it had and replace them with bifold doors to give us more access to the WHOLE closet. After he removed the doors, the bar and shelving inside he filled in all the holes and also primed and painted it. This closet will be a work in progress as we get everything we want in it.
So far this room is coming along. As you can tell I haven’t gotten to the decorating part, minus the accent wall. BUT IT IS COMING I PROMISE! Once the room is done right down to the decorative pieces I will be sharing with you all a full reveal. For now just having all their furniture from Baby Relax built and ready to go is a huge step for us. One step closer to bringing our babies home to a comfortable, safe, and peaceful place to grow.
