how to keep your kids germ-free this Back to School season

Some of you may know this, but many of you don’t- I am first a generation Mexican American woman . You’re probably wondering why that matters. Well, it is what makes me so passionate about sharing my tips and my life in hopes of helping you guys in some way. It is also what helped turned me into a smart shopper- always looking for good deals and smart products for my home and family. In our culture there is also this emphasis of taking care of those around us, I like to think that is what has driven me my whole life in being motherly, even before becoming one. 

Hover over the image above to shop these essential items at Walmart.Which is why I feel the dire need to prepare my kids and home for those germy back to school first weeks with all the essentials. You know those first few weeks where your germy kids are hit with the initial shock of being around other germy kids and they bring it all home to get you. Although we prepare every year for this, this year we will have newborns at home which means I need to be on my A game and I am going to share with you the ways I do that.

Stock up on tissues

For me there are a few basics I can’t live without. The first is Kleenex® Brand Ultra Soft™ Facial Tissue . Disinfect

I also make sure to wipe down toilets, flushing knobs and light switches! This time with the babies around I made sure to disinfect the handles on things in their room that my kids might touch. Hand Wash

Make sure your kids are routinely washing their hands. Make a schedule for them. Make sure they are washing their hands after using the restroom, before and after eating dinner, when they get home from school, when they come in from playing outside, and in our case- BEFORE she touches the babies.

Stock up your medicine cabinet

Although we can try to avoid our kids getting sick at all sometimes it’s not as easy and they inevitably get sick or some bumps and bruises. With such little babies at home we cannot afford it to be passed on to them so we have stocked up on a few must haves:

Water & healthy foods

Keep your kids hydrated and eating healthily. It is one of the best ways to help your kids prevent and fight against these germs. The way it works in my house is when one kid gets it so do the others and inevitably-ME! I try to start at ground zero and fuel their bodies up with the good stuff in hopes of being able to prepare their bodies to fight all those germs. 

One of the most important things to me was that I do not need to do anything crazy and stressful to prepare. All of these are things I do regularly and items I can stock up easily using Walmart’s Online Grocery service. Walmart provides me with the ease of shopping via their Online Grocery service and having the items brought straight to my car. There is no need to get kids in and out of the car and chase them down the aisles. I love that I can conveniently shop while saving money on products I need! 

We are ready for the 2019-2020 school year now! 4th grade here we come!
