6 Ways Parents Can Assist Their Child’s Learning

Thank you Brainiac™ Kids for sponsoring this post. Brain food kids want to eat!

There is so much we can do as parents to help our kids with their learning. These are 6 easy ways you can try at home with your kids #learning #learn #education #educate #learningisfun #funwithlearning #parenting #parents

As a parent we want to do the most in our power to help our kids learn and thrive. For the past 9 years of motherhood I have found ways to help my kids with learning and am here to share them with you, because after all the majority of it starts at home.

Nourish their brains

At the top of my list is making sure you are feeding them foods to help boost that brain power and get their bodies started on the right foot. We like to make healthy foods accessible to our kids. Nutrition is important not just for their overall health, but also for their brains. We love to give our girls Brainiac™ Kids applesauce. Brainiac™ Kids is great because you can incorporate brain fueling nutrients into food they already love!

As a seasoned parent I know the struggles of getting our kids to eat nutritious foods all too well. I am also very aware of the impact that has on their brain. I like to give my kids the example of a car, if you give it fuel and you do the oil changes it will run great. Our body and brain are the same way.

We spend our pregnancy taking vitamins to help develop their brains but then once they are older we lose that control. Yet even though our kids don’t want to eat these foods they still need these nutrients because THEY ARE STILL GROWING! We love how one 3.2oz. pouch of Brainiac™ Kids applesauce provides our kids with as much omega DHA/EPA as 1oz of salmon & Choline as 2 cups of broccoli. That is as much as 90% of their daily omega-3s!

And if giving them something rich in nutrients isn’t enough, they can be delivered right to your door! You can choose from their apple, strawberry and cinnamon flavors available on Amazon! ***Giveaway at the bottom***

Encourage time outdoors

Get their bodies moving! Time outdoors is so great for their body and social skills. With weather permitting we like to let our kids play outside 4-5 days per week. Skating, cycling, playing tag- WHATEVER! Just let them me outdoors catching some sun and enjoy fresh air.

Limit screen time

We live in a world where technology is everywhere. Our kids can watch anything at the click of a button and can many times make them want to do nothing but spend their time in front of a screen. We are all for educational games/programs and a family movie night- but all of those are monitored and limited in time…and must be earned.

Read with them

I cannot say this enough- READ WITH THEM! We have incorporated reading time into our night time routine with all 4 of the kids. Ask them questions about what you are reading and let them engage with the story. It is not just educational, it is a great way to wind down at the end of the day.

Help with schoolwork

Make yourself available for questions and help as much as you can. At the end of the day we go through her work and make sure she understands what she is doing.

Encourage them

One of the best things we can do is keep encouraging them. Remind your kids that they are doing a great job and encourage the dedication and work they put into their learning. We like to praise the work they do not the grade they get.
