Kids. The slow mornings full of sleeping in and eating in peace are far behind us. With four kids I quickly learned my routine needed to be tweaked a bit to help reduce stress..
There is so much going on in the world that our stress levels are heightened, making my routine even more important. Every day I try to wake up at least an hour before my kids are up. This hour is the time I get to focus on ME & start my day off right.
In that hour I take care of these 5 things and boy does my day have a different ring to it. From getting dressed to enjoying my cereal– I need these for ME.
1.Get Dressed
I got myself in the habit of getting dressed every day. Whether it is jeans and a t-shirt, yoga pants, or a comfy dress- I do it. This helps me get my day started feeling a bit more done up for the day.
Not to mention if I wait until my kids are up I might end up in pajamas all day- and that is perfectly fine. However, I have found my productivity levels to be higher when I’m out of them.

2.Meditate
I picked up meditating about 8 months ago and have never looked back. Due to the lack of time I usually get in a quick 5-10 minute meditation at the most. But those 5-10 minutes do wonders to get me into a different state of mind.
3.Gratitude Journal
I keep this simple. I have a designated area of my daily planner where I write down 5 things I am grateful for every morning. These 5 things can be simple and bullet points too.
The shift in mentality and starting off on a positive note is a great way to de-stress.

4.Eat Breakfast
How often do you get to enjoy a meal in peace? In one sitting? Without it getting cold or soggy? For me- enjoying a nice bowl of Post Dunkin’ cereals is a great treat for myself.
Whether it is the Post Dunkin’ Mocha Latte cereal or Post Dunkin’ Caramel Macchiato cereal flavors- both are so delicious and I basically get to have my coffee and eat it too now! Post Dunkin’cereals contain very small amounts of caffeine. You can find roughly a 10th of a cup of coffee equivalent in it.

Coffee and cereal are breakfast staples! I love enjoying these two to start my day off right.
Getting the time to sit down and enjoy my bowl of Post Dunkin’ cereals is always so relaxing and definitely allows me to start my day off fueled up!

5.Top 3 To Do
After I have enjoyed my Post Dunkin’ Mocha Latte cereal or Post Dunkin’ Caramel Macchiato cereal, I sit at my desk to plan my day. I take 5-10 minutes daily to look at my calendar and draft up a small to do list.
I set 3 must do tasks to keep my workload manageable and my confidence up too! These top 3 tasks can be business, family, or personal things and everything else can wait!
I find it important now more than ever to take the time to take care of ourselves and our own needs. Whether you take 15 minutes to read a book before your kids are up or to enjoy a bowl of Post Dunkin’ Mocha Latte cereal or Post Dunkin’ Caramel Macchiato cereal, do it. You deserve to have a start to your day that makes you feel happy and not stressed.
