There’s a bit of nostalgia every time we get to do something that feels “normal” with our kids. Last weekend we made a trip to one of our favorite places, Kenny’s Strawberry Farm. The last time we were there Lia was the same age the boys are now. I remember the excitement in her face at being able to pick her own strawberries and our delighted tummies when we got a taste!
There are seriously no sweeter berries in the world. This time the boys got to be a part of this family favorite. Kenny’s Strawberry Farm is located in Fallbrook, California- right outside of Temecula. To keep up with COVID-19 guidelines, Kenny’s has a reservation model they are following to give them a headcount of their expected guests.

Our Strawberry Farm Trip
Planning The Day
I feel like with kids there is ALWAYS some degree of planning involved. The strawberry farm is about an hour and a half away from our home. We made sure to plan our one-hour time slot at the farm to be early in the morning. Our expectation was the boys would nap on the drive back home, which they did! Our trip took place on a Saturday and I was very pleased with the ability to socially distance A TON from people!
Comfortable shoes are a must! As are shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit muddy. Boots are our go-to for any farm type of adventure! Along with comfortable shoes and a light jacket, snacks are a must! Plus, let’s not forget those face masks!
Our Time At The Strawberry Farm
The boys of course are not familiar with being out as much, so they saw a giant field of space to run lol! As soon as we walked in we were able to choose our size bucket to pick, I promise you need a big bucket! They are SO GOOD! We grabbed 3 small buckets for the kids and a large one because well we LOVE strawberries.
The farm is separated into 3 sections and we were directed to the furthest one. This helps keep the farm from being overpicked in certain areas, and we did not mind at all. We made our way to the furthest corner and were able to have I would say 20-30 rows space from other families that were there. Being able to be so far apart from others outdoors gave us the ability to remove our masks for breaks and feel safe doing so.
While we picked berries, Lincoln ran up and down the aisles feeling very adventurous. Lucas, on the other hand, quickly realized we were picking strawberries & tried to take bites out of every one we picked. As for Lia, she cannot stop talking about how much fun we had at the strawberry farm. She loved getting to choose her own strawberries, sometimes she wanted big ones and others “Lia size” ones (small ones).

After We Picked Our Berries…
We got in line to pay for our picks and grabbed some delicious jam. They have seriously the most delicious strawberry jam ever! The farm has a fun picnic like area where we washed some berries and got to taste some of our picks before heading out.
We couldn’t leave the farm without a photo on their giant chair to commemorate our trip!
What Did We Do With All Those Berries?
You would be surprised to know how quickly we used all those strawberries! And trust me when I say it was A TON!
How we ate our strawberries:
- Ate them whole
- Made Strawberry Muffins
- Made Mickey Shaped Pop Tarts
- Strawberry Smoothies
- Strawberries & Cream
To say the trip was a success is an understatement! I can’t wait to share some of our tasty strawberry recipes! For now, enjoy this photo dump full of adorable kids & delicious berries!
