It’s one of my favorite times of the year- backyard BBQ season! Being outdoors together while enjoying delicious food is one of our favorite family activities! You cannot go wrong with some sunshine, family & good food. A family favorite has been carne asada nachos, topped with HERDEZ® Salsa Verde & WHOLLY® Guacamole! This recipe is perfect for your 4th of July celebration!

Carne Asada Nachos Recipe

While on an Albertsons grocery run, we grabbed everything we needed to make a family-sized platter of carne asada nachos. We love that we can grab everything we need for just about every occasion while at Albertsons. For days when I am short on time, I can use Albertsons grocery delivery or pickup via their mobile app to save me time! Talk about convenience.

A platter of carne asada nachos at the center of your 4th of July spread is bound to be a hit with everyone. delicious meat, quick to make tortilla chips, salsa, beans, & guac what’s not to love. My favorite part of it all is how easy they are to whip up.

Carne Asada Nachos

Carne Asada Nachos Ingredients:

  • Marinated Carne Asada from the meat counter at Albertsons
  • Corn tortillas or tortilla chips
  • Herdez Salsa Verde
  • WHOLLY Guacamole- for this I picked the Minis Cups Classic and used about 2 of them!
  • Sour Cream
  • Refried Beans – canned or fresh, your choice
  • Shredded Mexican Cheese Blend

Making the Tortilla Chips

*If you are using already made chips you can skip this part.*

I made our tortilla chips in 10 minutes using our air fryer. You want to cut up your tortillas in sixths, spray both sides with cooking spray and sprinkle salt on both sides. Set your air fryer to 350 degrees. Line your basket with one layer of the tortillas. You will leave them in there for about 5-6 minutes and flip midway.

Assembling the Carne Asada Nachos

There is no right or wrong way to put these together. I have a particular order I like to assemble to allow for the cheese to melt.

The Base

Start off with a layer of tortilla chips. On top of the tortilla chips I add the refried beans topped with a layer cheese. On top of the cheese layer you add the carne asada, still warm off of the grill.

The Fun Toppings

After the cheese and meat I add a dollop of sour cream! Or a few dollops depending on my mood for the day.

The next layer is where I add Herdez Salsa Verde Mild. Personally, Herdez Salsa Verde Mild is my go-to for my nachos because it adds a real authentically Mexican cooking taste. It brings me back to the salsa made at my grandmother’s house in Mexico and is made with simple ingredients.

I like to add the salsa on top of it so it soaks up all the way down. My biggest tip is to spread the salsa evenly throughout so all the chips can get a bit.

The grand finale is the guac! WHOLLY Guacamole adds that last oomph to these nachos. Let’s be honest everything is better with guac! My favorite part of WHOLLY Guacamole is being able to have delicious and fresh guacamole ready to go whenever I need it. Their guacamole is made with Hass avocados and no added preservatives.
