Guess what? I found some old gems of parties past that I am bringing out to share! As a parent, we all want to make our children’s birthday parties special, but it can be overwhelming to plan a memorable event without breaking the bank. That’s why Zoey’s 5th Birthday Toy Story Jessie -themed birthday party was a DIY success! We were able to create a festive and fun atmosphere without spending a fortune.

PS: Full disclosure this was before I owned a DSLR or had amazing quality phone photos, so the quality of the photos is not what you’re used to lol.

The Decorations

Firstly, to save the most-I recommend DIY most of the decorations and treats. We started with the photo backdrop, which was a hit among the kids and parents alike. All you need is hay, bandanas, and frames from the dollar store to create a rustic backdrop. The result is a perfect spot for capturing memories with friends and family.

To make the birthday sign, I purchased a printables package on Etsy that included customizable templates for invitations, banners, and signs. The package made it easy to create a personalized birthday sign that added a pop of color to the party.

For the drinking cups, I wanted something unique and fun, so we painted mason jars with cow print. You can top it off with a little twine bow. It is a quick and easy project that adds a touch of whimsy to the party.

Food & Entertainment

To keep the kids entertained, we made a horseshoe toss out of cardboard in the shape of a barn. It is a simple and budget-friendly activity that can keep the kids occupied and engaged.

Finally, our dessert table featured all homemade treats, which were a hit with the kids and parents. We made cupcakes, homemade rice krispie treats, cowboy hat shaped chocolate lollipops, chocolate covered marshmallows, and strawberry brownie kabobs, and so much more.

DIYing our daughter’s Jessie-themed birthday party was a success. We were able to create a memorable and fun party that will be cherished for years to come.
